WHINE UP!!! It's been ages since I last updated. I need not talk about what happened from my last entry until um, yesterday. Too much happened and there is too little time. I am not even supposed to be writing this now, because nothing life changing happened today plus the fact that there's so much stuff to do. But, but. I just want and NEED to steam off a bit. And whine, which is one of my favorite things to do. I know this entry is going to be kinda pointless but whatever, this is my world. Haha! To kick things off, I hate it that Tixu, Keith, and I still have no definite topic for our thesis. It's no one's fault naman. It's just that katamaran decided to strike at the three of us (or probably at me lang). We are (or I am) not entirely tamad; it just took us more time to take in that we really should be seriously working on it already. Oh well, I know we can come up with something. It's just extremely frustrating and draining. Sabi ko nga kanina, NAKAKAPURGA! Hahaha! Also, I very much dislike our Econ. professor. It's nothing personal really, I just don't feel her. Haha. What made me hate her more is the surprised quiz she gave us yesterday. ANG DAYAAA! Whine to the max! *THE SENSIBLE PART STARTS HERE* But I'm glad I still have things and people to be thankful for. I thank my Tuta for giving me a box of Samba chocolates. I thank my Potat for saving three HQ PCD videos to Ron (my portable media player.) I thank my Naenar for being super sweet as always. I cannot wait for us to hang out next Saturday. And I thank Diday for her warm hugs kanina! My Deary Cake, I'm glad you got out of the hospital na. I love you <3 Monday, September 10, 2007
DUMEXTER On my multiply blog, I wrote that I am very, very brutal. I think. Judging from my movie preferences. I remember how I totally enjoyed the Saw films and I particularly admired Saw III for its dingy smear of butchery. Hell I placed Jigsaw on a pedestal.
I began to notice how gory I could be when every time I see a suspense film, I feel like it's not bloody enough. Then I'd come up with my own blood-soaked ideas on how to improve the scenes. If asked why I find them entertaining, below are two potential reasons: * People do sometimes enjoy watching others suffer, for it makes them feel at ease that someone else is in pain...as they are. EMO-NESS. LOL * It contributes to our own death instinct, which is the instinct to either watch or manifest destruction and death. Freud thinks it helps balance the instinct of Life. Hmmm. PWEDE!!! If I'd really try to analyze myself and determine if I have sociopath-sicko tendencies, I'd say that what constitutes horror changes with the times. Right now, a person being subjected to torture isn't as abstract as it used to be. We see news reports about these things happening in the world almost daily. These movies seem to tap into that fear of torture that we, as the world community, are facing. So sanayan lang? Kamon, e bakit ako lang ang nasanay?! Oh well, enough with the psychoanalysis. Since there's not much suspense movies today (and tons of failed ones like 1408), I'm very glad Tina's Bob introduced me to Dexter Morgan. Yes, I can say I'm a fan of this sly, dry serial killer. It's like "CSI" meets Hannibal. It's not the typical too gory and too much of a stereotypical suspense series. Yes, there's a lot of harsh profanity, some non-sexual nudity but just the right amount of graphic violence. This has taught me that violence need not be so graphic and sadistic. Storytellers need not use too much violence to convey deep moral questions and make the audience think. All things considered, Dexter is an enjoyable feel-bad series! Thursday, August 16, 2007
LA DIVA "Cause when I look to the sky something tells me you're here with me I'm a kid. I'm a snob. I'm a total whiner. I can be the sweetest thing yet I can be mean without any warning. I'm a puzzle and a riddle. And not all the pieces are in the box.Yet you see the picture bright and clear. Hey you. Yes you. Thank you. I don't know why you stick with me. You see past my imperfection. I'm a queen in your eyes. And that's exactly what I need. Wednesday, August 01, 2007
Welcome to the dark side. Have you too been infected by the Blackle bug? Millions of Internet
users are logging on to a new search engine, Blackle.com - The Green Google — with a black
background — to save a wee bit of energy every time they want to search
something on the net. The argument is simple: An all-white background uses more energy to display than a black background. Now if Google, which gets gets 200 million queries a day, turns its background black, some amount of energy will be saved. So, Blackle is Google gone black. However, while blackle claims that the search engine saves power since it keeps the screen black, the Internet is flooded with a counter argument suggesting that no power saving takes place by turning the background black. WHATEVER. Wala namang mawawala eh. I encourage you to set Blackle as your home page. This way every time you load your Internet browser you will save a little bit of energy. Remember every bit counts! You will also be reminded about the need to save energy each time you see the Blackle page load. Tuesday, July 24, 2007
